New and Critical Requirements
for INFOSEC: Protecting Electronic Assets via Architectural
Shielding
For diligent organizations to operate
successfully in today’s environment, they must identify
their critical assets, related vulnerabilities and threats;
and then mitigate the associated risk. As all IT
professionals know THE critical asset is electronic
information the organization possesses. Four critical and
fast growing threats to these electronic assets exist,
including threats that usually fall in the “gap” between the
IT and Physical Security groups, i.e., eavesdropping,
exploiting “secured” WLANs, EMI and EMP.
Current firewall, software based, and other
security technologies are NOT adequate in protecting the
assets from these threats. These threats place critical and
“new” requirements squarely upon IT Security professionals
in areas not traditionally considered “IT centric”. This
presentation will identify the threats; demonstrate both the
critical role that the building structures itself and its
glass fenestrations have; and the “how/why it works”
explanation with respect to mitigating the threats. Some of
this information has been known within Intelligence
Communities of the US Government and because of the massive
deployments of Wireless Person Communications Services (PCS)
is only recently coming into the consciousness of the
broader US Government and private sectors. This is
approximately a 60 minute presentation.
New Safety Requirements for Glazing
Systems: Mitigating the Threats to Electronic Assets and
More
For diligent organizations to operate
successfully in today’s environment, they must identify
their critical assets, related vulnerabilities and threats;
and then mitigate the associated risk. More times than not,
THE critical assets are both its people and the electronic
information they process. Four critical and fast growing
threats to these electronic assets exist, including threats
that usually fall in the “gap” between the IT and Physical
Security groups. This presentation will demonstrate both the
critical role that the glass fenestrations have; the
“how/why it works” explanation with respect to mitigating
the threats and current industry updates.
