ASTM International Workshop on
Satisfying Anti-Terrorism Requirements
W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - A Workshop on Satisfying
Anti-Terrorism Requirements Through Emerging Standards will be held
Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the
Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla. Sponsored by ASTM Committee F12
on Security Systems and Equipment, the workshop will be held in
conjunction with the Sept. 29–30 standards development meetings of the
committee.
The workshop will include presentations on using
Committee F12 standards to specify or design appropriate anti-terrorism
features. The use of standards in testing and qualifying security
products will be discussed, including design criteria using risk
assessment, security tests for glazing and doors, crash test standards
and access control. The intended audience is federal, state and local
government engineers and architects involved in security design;
engineers and architects providing security engineering and design for
government or private industry; and manufacturers or vendors who provide
security services or products.
The fee to attend the workshop for ASTM members and
session chairs is $75 for online registration and $100 for on-site
registration. The fee for non-ASTM members is $150 online and $175 on
site. The fee is waived for presenters and students with a valid I.D.
