PGC International Web Video Section Continues to Grow
The Protective Glazing Council (PGC) International's new Video Section debuted immediately after the Annual Symposium three weeks ago, and already several videos have been offered to industry visitors of the site.  The debut featured PGC International's new web video series "An Interview With...", which began with an interview with the association's current President, Ron McCann of Viracon.  Since the debut, an additional episode featuring Joseph Smith of Applied Research Associates and this week's new episode featuring Ryan Russell of Hope's Windows have been published to the site with great results.

"Our initial audience for this new series is better than anticipated," said Brian Pitman, Director of Marketing and Communications for PGC International.  "The episodes featuring Ron and Joe have drawn over 1,400 views so far, and we anticipate that audience increasing as we begin to promote it beyond the boundaries of the protective glazing industry into more government, commercial and architectural communities."

Additionally, the Video Section also features presentations helpful for a variety of audiences in the industry.  Raj Goyal's presentation at glasstec on behalf of PGC International has already been seen over 1,300 times on the site.  A new presentation was published this week on the site by Harvey Bernstein of McGraw-Hill Construction on the "greening" of the protective glazing industry.  The presentation was given at the Annual Symposium, and featured many facts and survey results which Bernstein unveiled a week later at Greenbuild in Boston.

"Bernstein's presentation is a 'must-see' by this industry," said Pitman.  "During the presentation, Bernstein stated that any company not offering a more environmentally friendly product in five years would likely be out of business.  If you are in the construction industry in any form, the presentation and handouts available in the Video Section should be your next click on the web."

Several other presentations were filmed at the Annual Symposium and will be released over the next few months in the Video Section.  Additionally, PGC International is soliciting educational video presentations, blast tests and more for inclusion on the site.  "We currently have about a dozen blast tests, ranging from arena blast to shock tube and large missile impact/hurricane cycling tests that will go on the site at the beginning of the year," said Pitman.  "We are looking to expand our offering even further and create a single stop video library for the industry."  Any company wishing to offer content for the Video Section is asked to contact Pitman directly at brian@protectiveglazing.org, or by phone at (785) 271-0208, Ext. 315.
