PGC International Virtual
Tradeshow Extended through 2008
The Protective Glazing Council (PGC) International
first ever "Virtual Tradeshow" has been extended through the rest of
2008 due to a great response from the industry. In the month of
November, over 2,100 unique visitors browsed through the virtual booths
of the tradeshow, learning more about PGC International members
exhibiting there, including products and services, as well as videos and
more.
"We are very happy with the response so far,"
explained Brian Pitman, Director of Marketing and Communications for the
organization. "The Board of Directors decided to extend the show
as a way of giving the industry more information about our members and a
chance to showcase those that purchased a booth."
The Virtual Tradeshow can be visited on the website at
www.protectiveglazing.org/tradeshow, and was created as a way to
reach more potential customers in the industry. It was originally
scheduled to run only through the month of November, in conjunction with
the PGC International Annual Symposium.
"Five years ago, the Annual Symposium was held in the
US General Services Administration (GSA) Building in Washington, D.C.,"
explained Pitman. "When security issues in a post-911 world made
that nearly impossible to continue, the organization looked for ways to
easily offer the same type of exhibit services, but for an even larger
audience. The Virtual Tradeshow became the perfect way for us to
do that on a site that draws an average of 60,000 visitors per year."
The Board of Directors is also looking at different
ways to bring the many advantages of the Virtual Tradeshow to the site
for members on an annual basis. "We may be able to offer our
members the benefits of an annual tradeshow at a tiny fraction of the
costs of a traditional location-based show," concluded Pitman.
