PGC International Annual Symposium
Dates, Location Set
The PGC International Annual Symposium dates and location
have been announced by the organization. This annual event will
occur November 2-4, 2010 at the National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST) headquarters building in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
The event will feature an educational program focused at a government
audience, as well as sessions for PGC International members, a
mini-tradeshow, information about the just-released Protective
Glazing Manual, "Take Five" product presentations, a general
membership meeting with Board of Directors elections and more.
"The PGC International Marketing Committee is
currently putting together an aggressive program for the event," said
Brian Pitman, PGC International Director of Marketing and
Communications. "The program will maximize the opportunities to
meet with government purchasers and officials to educate them about
member products and services, as well as the overwhelming need to
specify them in new projects."
Registration for the event is expected to open in
August, but members are asked to "save the dates" and make plans to
attend. "We will have more information and registration available
soon," said Pitman. "Be sure to check the website at
www.protectiveglazing.org/events for the latest information,
exhibition and sponsorship opportunities, as well registration when it
goes live."
PGC International Releases New
Technical Manual for the Industry
PGC International announced today the release of a new technical
manual for purchase on its website. The manual is a jointly-written
resource focusing on the protective glazing industry and its products. It
is now available to the general public. The Protective Glazing
Manual was written by industry experts at PGC International and the
Glass Association of North America (GANA). The Manual describes
the types of protective glazing products and technologies available, as
well as the standards and levels of protection they provide.
Furthermore, it discusses items such as the care and cleaning of
protective glazing products, and offers a comprehensive glossary of
terms and applications. The 2010 Edition is the inaugural version of
this manual.

PGC International Moves Its
Headquarters
PGC International Headquarters moved
in early July from an office park in southwest Topeka, Kansas to the
15th floor of an office building in downtown Topeka, overlooking the
Kansas State Capitol building. The move by PGC International's
management company, Centric Management and Consulting (formerly
Association Services Corporation), will save the
association money in the long run, while offering more in-house benefits
to PGC International as well.
"The new office
will allow us to expand the types of services we offer to PGC
International and other clients," said Executive Director Bill Yanek.
"We can now host events in-house, we are in the process of building a
video studio for podcasts and educational presentations, and many more
features are being developed."

PGC International Annual Dues
Billing Emailed
PGC International
sent out its annual dues
billing to members this week via email, a first for the organization, as
an effort to save costs and embrace the technological savvy of its
members. The Executive Representative for each member company will
receive an email and pdf version of the annual dues billing.
"Our goal this year was to save some unnecessary expense
while offering more convenience to our members," said Sara Neiswanger,
PGC International Account Executive. "We had many requests
to move more of our communications and interactions with members to
email, and we are happy to provide them with this requested benefit."

PGC International Offers Video
Opportunity at Upcoming GlassBuild America
PGC International
announced today a
member opportunity at the upcoming GlassBuild America trade show at the
Las Vegas Convention Center on September 14-16, 2010. PGC
International staff will be at the show filming promotional podcasts for
members for viewing on the PGC International website, as well as on DVD and
streaming formats for members who take advantage of the opportunity.
